Incapable of love, Incapable of commitment, Incapable of letting go, well we have two people Declan and Evie who are living life like this. Two broken people who happen to cross paths and change the course of each others lives from incredible circumstances. The emotion expressed for these two characters and on subjects that are quite confronting I believed was expressed in a raw, honest and respectful way. I certainly did not pick Evie's big secret and it left me just wanting to pull her out of the book to rescue. I have not read a romance story that had a secret like Evie's so that was quite dramatic and hard to swallow.
Now can I say I really loved the whole basis of this story, what would have blown it out of the park for me would have been to throw the Dectective who was helping Evie into the romance mix as I kind of got the feeling he may have had a simmering attraction to her, perhaps I was hoping as he was just so caring of Evie and her emotional wellbeing. Don't get me wrong I am happy she loved Declan but I think it would have provided for some explosive scenes especially when both men just wanted to help Evie beat her demons and surive her ordeal. I did feel the ending was slightly rushed and wound up when I really could have read a few more chapters.
I guess I just wanted to spend some more time with Declan and Evie.

Strong and sweet
This author is new to me but I definitely will be reading more of her books. This book was very well written, it moved along smoothly and the ambiance of the book was wonderful although at times it was slow with repetitious thought from the characters. This is Evie and Declan story of struggles with past childhood circumstance with the intention to keep moving along. Declan homeless at a very young age and shoved into an illegal fight ring by Mickey, who took him in and notice he has potential as well as introduce him to the underground criminal world. Evie is a quiet, naive and nurturing young lady, who move to town looking for work after her mother died of Cancer and get hired by the pub owner Mona(Mickey sister,DeClan adopted mother). DeClan ignored Evie and wasn't very friendly toward her at first, however; she broke down his cold iron walls. This is a total different storyline for me than what I normally read although it was well written which kept the reader attention. DeClan was a hitman and MMA fighter for the organized crime family and didn't want a relationship due to his position in the mob organization. Overall, a great story!!! Kudos to Ms Hubbard...
At first glance Evie and Declan are opposites. She is sweet, trusting, friendly and extroverted. Declan is cold, suspicious, grouchy and introverted. She is against violence and he is a killer. As the characters reveal themselves it is shown that they both had difficult childhoods that including abuse. Neither had serious relationships before. He had one night stands and she had one previous sexual experience. They were both afraid of having their hearts broken. I liked watching Declan fall hard for Evie and begin to trust her and visa versa. I was glad that he lost his cold demeanor after while and admitted that he could not let her go. I thought that they had good sexual chemistry and the smex scenes were good, although sometimes a little short for my liking. While there was violence it was not overly so, especially for this type of book. Also it was not too descriptive. It had a HFN ending whereas I preferred a HEA ending, to confirm that they made it as a couple and were happy.
After reading the blurb, I wasn't too sure what to expect from inCapable and I ended up really liking it. Sara Hubbard gives her readers two broken souls that end up finding each other under the worst of conditions.
Evie is a girl on her own. She's been caring for her sick mother and now that she's passed on, Evie has nobody. Starting over in a new town, Evie ends up in the local pub and scoring herself a job. Mona, the bar owner, has a motherly feel to her and a little something else Evie can't put her finger on just yet.
The bar is full of construction workers in nice suits that leave huge tips. Evie instantly notices things don't add up, but isn't at a point in her life to question the money. Told not to sleep with any customers from the bar by Mona as that only causes conflict, Evie has no problem complying until she realizes Declan is a regular customer.
Declan isn't a guy to mess with. He started on the streets at the age of sixteen and has only gotten better at his job as the years went on. Mona and her brother Mickey took Declan in when he was just a kid, knowing their family was better than nothing for him. While it wasn't what Mona would want for her own kid, it gave Declan a purpose.
"Control."
"I need it."
"I have to have it." ~ Declan
For what he does, Declan has to have total control. If he is out of control, mistakes will be made and the boss will not be happy. Declan works for Jimmy, has for years and hasn't slipped up yet. With Evie around, he feels his control slowly slipping away and he doesn't like it one bit. There's something about this girl that is as broken as he is inside.
"It's an odd feeling to have someone look at me like this. No one has before and though it embarrasses me-another foreign emotion-it also frees me, for lack of a better word. Like for a brief moment, I'm not a person who ruins everything I touch. She's so thin and delicate that I could break her. I will break her if I continue down this road." ~ Declan
"He's hurting, even if he doesn't want to admit it, and he's crafted sky-high concrete walls around his heart to protect himself from whatever it is he's suffered through. I intend on being the person to break through those walls and bring them crumbling down." ~ Evie
She has her work cut out for her. Declan himself doesn't know what he wants, so he doesn't know how to let Evie in. There are so many new emotions he is trying to deal with while also keeping his head on straight to do his job. Once the job and Evie collide, Declan is put in the toughest spot of his young life.
The book is fantastic, suspenseful as well as sexy. The story is told from both Evie and Declan's points of view and at about the 90% mark I was hoping there wasn't a cliffhanger ending. I couldn't have handled that. At. All. However, Sara Hubbard did a great job wrapping their story up and giving us a nice epilogue as well.
